The Wendy’s Golf Classic was an all-around success, bringing the community together for an event filled with fun, Frostys, and celebrities–all while raising money for disadvantaged kids.
This year, the 18-hole scramble event sold out on teams, each consisting of up to four players and one celebrity. Golfers got the chance to hang out on the green with dozens of familiar names and faces from the sports world, including Jake Ballard, Joe Charboneau, Bruce Drennan, Kevin Mack, Joel Penton, Greg Pruitt, Jamie Skelton, and Jim Tressel.
Headed by Zane Gross and Chad Donelson of Wenco and Kip Matteson, the Wendy’s Golf Classic benefits both The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and Team Focus, two organizations that go hand-in-hand to connect disadvantaged children with homes, mentors, and hope for a secure and productive future. Together with the Charity Auction, the event raised $90,000 in proceeds.
The winning team, which shot 20-under, included Matteson, Tim Baum, Mark Eisel and Dave Grant. All participants enjoyed food, drinks, contests and giveaways throughout the day.
If you missed out on this summer’s Wendy’s Golf Classic, don’t worry: plans are already underway for the next one, scheduled for June 21, 2019.
